We had 5 great finalist photos for our Dry T-Shirt Contest, but Richard and Katherine took the prize this year for their rendition of American Gothic.
They donated their well-earned prize money to MUST Ministries of Smyrna. Katherine and I went to MUST today to present them with a check for $300 (in honor of our three-year anniversary). It always feels good to be generous and give to others.
Here we are with Sally who has been with MUST for over 20 years. She told us two stories during our short visit that still resonate. One was the real-life tale of a man with MS who walked (limped) six miles to come to the center because he hadn’t eaten in seven days. The other was the true story of a 18-month old who wouldn’t stop crying. Two teenagers were babysitting him; I am not sure where the parents were. When asked why the baby was crying, they replied he hadn’t been fed in a day and a half. Sally quickly got some fruit and as she began to feed him, he stopped crying.
If you are interested in learning more, getting involved and helping, please go to: www.mustministries.org. I happen to know they take donated clothes, canned food, and of course money, but there may be other ways to get involved and help.
Thank you!
